A second render of my Paper Lanterns scene.
I've been trying to make sure that all of the versions of this scene that I do have differing compositions so they look a bit more different than merely the shapes of the lamps.
Unfortunately, this appears to be the best composition, so that idea's been shot-up.
(at least for the moment, anyway)
The one thing I will be doing for the next version is changing how the ripples are handled.
Right now, they're done about the same as I've done it for all the "Glowing whatever" scenes I've created, which means that they all suffer from the same issues.
Next version I'll be doing the ripples more-or-less by hand, creating the ripple map in an image editor.
(now, if I could use the node editor to do such a thing...)
Created in Blender, rendered with Cycles, post-processing done in Blender 2.65a.
And thanks for the fave, too!
This means that the ripples can't blend together like they should.
The older Blender Internal engine had a method for placing image textures on an object depending on the position of other objects, but they haven't copied that mechanism over to the new rendering engine yet.
